1. Nomination. Three Resident Members (1 Proposer and 2 Seconders) must nominate a Resident candidate and submit written letters of recommendation. The Proposer will guide you through the nomination process and will act as your liaison with the Club. 1 Proposer and 1 Seconder must nominate Nonresident candidates. These members may be Resident or Nonresident. Your Proposer and Seconders must be well acquainted with you.
2. Application. You must complete the written nomination for membership and submit the additional documents requested to the Membership Office.
3. Notice to Membership. During a 30-day posting period, members are asked to provide any information, objections or recommendations that could impact your nomination.
4. Review of References. Your Proposer and Seconders will be contacted by the Membership Committee to further explore their knowledge of your background and character. This step is intended to ensure that you are well-known to your Proposer and Seconders and that you fully understand your responsibilities as a member, should you be chosen.
5. Interview. Following the review of references, you and your spouse will be invited to meet with the Membership Committee. Upon completion of this interview, the Membership Committee makes its formal recommendation to the Board of Directors. Nonresident candidates are not required to complete the interview.
6. Orientation. You and your spouse will be invited to attend an orientation session. Completion of an orientation is required prior to your acceptance as a member of Farmington. Nonresident candidates are not required to attend an orientation.
7. Offer of Membership. Upon approval of the Board of Directors, you will be invited to meet with the Membership Director to complete any remaining paperwork and to remit any required fees (Nonresident candidates will be called). With the completion of this final step, you are now a member of Farmington Country Club and entitled to all the benefits of membership. The time frame in which these seven steps can be completed may vary.
